Ballot
Risk
and Control Self-Assessment Software
The Resolver*Ballot ® is a polling and analysis software tool
that can be used with any number of respondents, each of whom are
given a wireless, hand-held, numeric keypad. The facilitator or chair
of the meeting designs a list of up to 200 ideas, risks or questions
— either in advance or "on the fly" — and
respondents use the keypads to anonymously vote their responses
to each question. The results are displayed for all to see instantly
in a bar graph reflecting the frequency distribution. A variety
of graphic and statistical analysis can be completed on-the-spot
to enable groups to better understand the meaning of their responses.
Overview
Typically in RCSA workshops, 20 to 30 unique risks are entered into
the software either through a live brainstorming session or from
a pre-existing list. These risk statements are then voted upon based
on three customizable criteria:
-
Impact
- Probability
- Level of Control
Evaluating
risks in this manner enables participants the opportunity to have
a focused discussion, share opinions, review facts and arrive at
a clearer definition and understanding of the risks — ones
that are shared by all.Following evaluation, the prioritized risks
are automatically compiled and displayed in one of several graphical
forms. Generally an x-y chart of the three criteria is used. The
risk map allows for further discussion, analysis and ultimately
action planning.
How
it is used in Practice
- Presents the group with a five-stage process for decision-making,
idea generation, evaluation and discussion, idea refinement, analysis
of results and action planning.
- Enables small to very large groups to raise issues, create and
evaluate ideas, share assessments and analyze group opinions in
real-time.
- Allows participants to comment or elaborate on the results of
their responses as they see them instantaneously displayed. This
permits much richer qualitative information to be included in the
discussion and analysis.
- Prints
reports outlining the findings of your meeting session so analysis
can occur after the fact. |
